Tree Huggers Exposed
By Charles Kubach, Mine-Engineer.Com

Investigative reporter, J Edgar Hoover, recently investigated the radical environmental movement, and discovered some general truths about those involved in the environmental movement. Out of all Americans, about 7% claimed to be an environmental activist. Two thirds of this 7% are over the age of 35. About half called themselves Republican and the other half described their political leaning as Democrat. Not surprisingly, the Democrats lived in large urban areas, while the Republicans lived in rural areas. Of those two groups, it appears that most of the Republicans living in rural areas have a college degree, and like outdoor activities.

Why, then, do these educated, responsible citizens oppose any development, such as oil drilling, manufacturing, mining, or home building? They have been fed a steady diet of environmental propaganda from the schools, Hollywood (movies, television), and the liberal press the majority of their adult lives. Now, this 7% of the population wants to direct how the other 93% lives, and more importantly, how they conduct their livelihoods.

The silent majority is again being taken for a ride by a minority that frequently have fallen for dis-information of the radical environmental movement. The silent majority do not stand up for their rights, and consequently, they are getting the environmental program force fed to them by the vocal minority.

The left leaning Democrats in their urban areas, I can understand. They never understood anything anyway, living in their polyana make believe world, more closely related to Disneyland than reality. They are truly a lost cause. It is the other half that perplexes me. They should know better than to fall for the propaganda of the Radical Environmental movement. I suppose, though, if one hears it enough, they might just start to believe it is true, and since the radical 1960's, environmentalists have been decried as being "cool" by the radical left. Hollywood, the left wingers that they are, quickly jumped on the band wagon, and put anti-business and development messages in most movies and tv shows produced from 1970 onward. The schools, influenced by the same movement, re-wrote the textbooks, teachers pushed the trendy environmental movement propaganda as fact, and here we are today, in a world where only tree huggers are trendy, the rest of us are villains. That is the other 93% of us. That would make a lot of villains. If only they would stand up and say "I've had enough of this Environmental Crap, and I'm not going to take it anymore".

I suppose it is much easier to just sit back and let someone else make the rules, but the other 93% always get sent the bill for their mis-guided policies, and our lives and livelihood is radically changed as a result of their mis-guided ways.

Just take the destruction of the City of New Orleans, for example. If it were not for a group of tree huggers calling themselves "Save the Wetlands", that tied the US Army Corps of Engineers up in court in the late 1960's for 10 years, the Corps would have rebuilt the canals and levies, and New Orleans would be fine today. Not devastated, as it currently is. Now we get to pick up the tab for this one also, and it is going to be many billions of dollars. All because some tree huggers wanted to protect some frog.

Me, I would have wanted to protect the 600,000 residents of New Orleans, first and foremost. The frogs come and go, but to destroy an entire city for some left winged foolishness is totally absurd, and criminal, to my way of thinking. And they got away with it. No one cares. They are working on their next project, which might have a much more devastating and expensive results for a neighborhood near you.

Well, for what it is worth, I care, and I think these groups should be held accountable for their actions. I think that the other 93% should care, also. People are much more important than any animal or plant, and if we do not stand up for ourselves, perhaps one day, the tree huggers will get their way, the planet will be populated by furry and slimy creatures, only.

But that's just my opinion.
