Arcadian Shores Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, SC is located about
2 blocks from the ocean. It is associated with the Wyndham Hotel, and offers a Great round of
golf every time one steps onto the links. The course is a Rees Jones design, with a very scenic location, subtle elevation
changes and some elevated tees and elevated greens. Water is in play on 6 holes, trees in play on every hole,
bunkers strategically placed, and challenging greens that can make one utter a few four letter words.
The slope rating from the back tees is 137 and 126 from the middle tees. Yardage is 6,857 from the back and 6,055 from the middle tees.
For a 20 handicapper, like myself, I found lots of difficulty playing from the middle tees and my friends had
all the trouble they could handle from the back tees.
The clubhouse, and staff were excellent, the driving range was convenient and next to the starter. Green fees were $65,
and considering the quality of this course, I would say it is a
good deal for the money.
The scenery is very nice, country
setting by the beach. I have played this course a number of times, with scores ranging from +20 to +27. (My handicap is 20)
All in all, a great day of golf every time
I played this very good course, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Below are a couple of photos of the course I shot while playing it in 2008. The first if s par 4, the 2d is a par 3.
