LOS VERDES GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB 7000 W Los Verdes Drive Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 310-377-0338
Los Verdes is a 18 hole bent grass course along the Pacific Ocean, situated on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Water is in play on several holes. The course was designed by William Bell and constructed in 1965. It is a Public Course, last year it had the distinction of having the MOST rounds of golf played at any golf course in the United States. Several reasons, green fees are only $19 - $23, the course is beautiful, difficult and a great course to play, with the gentle Pacific Winds blowing across the fairways. It has a slope rating of 122 (from the blue tee's), 71 is par, has a total course distance of 6,626 yards. The 15th hole is the signature hole, and has a very nice view looking towards the green from the tee's, with the Pacific in the background. (Also where your approach shot will go if it is long). On a clear day, one can see Catalina Island from this hole. It is very difficult to get tee times for this course because it is played so often. I usually play it as often as I can, but I have only been averaging 3-4 times per year. My scores on this course range from a low of 90 to a high of +100. Los Verdes has undulating fairways and greens, precariously
placed bunkers and sand traps to catch an errant ball and one can
only find a flat spot at the tee box. It is a very challenging
course and a Great course to play!
