Robbers Roost Golf Club is a "Local" golf course, nothing fancy, but the course has a 137 slope,
and interesting layout. Green Fees were only $45. Water is
in play on 8 holes, 6,949 yds from back tees, 6,100 yards from middle tees (120 slope),
and lots of pine trees and bunkers. The Winter Rye grass fairways were wet when I played, but
the course was challenging and fun. It is a par 72 and I shot a 91 (with a 20.5 handicap, that is under par, net).
Like most courses in Myrtle Beach, keep the balls in the fairways, or at least within a few feet of the fairway,
and they play much better. Greens are challenging but not too complex. I missed all the water, but made a few bunkers (which were not in good shape).
Play was the slowest that I experienced in Myrtle Beach, but many groups offered to let us play through, but what is
the difference, waiting on hole five or hole six? Five hours for a round of golf
is acceptable. All in all, it is a good course to play and for the money, perhaps a bargain.
I would play it again.
