The Mineral, Chrysocolla is a
copper ore mineral, with a hardness of 2 to 4, SG of 2.2, and is usually some
shade of green or blue. It is a secondary mineral, typically formed by
alteration of copper ores such as chalcopyrite, cuperite, etc..
It is usually found in oxidation zones of copper ore deposits.
Occasionally, good specimins are polished and used as gemstones.
