The Mumm Napa Valley Winery The Mumm Winery produces some of the better Bubbly in California. Their methode champenoise produces sparkling wines (Champagne is only officially used for French wines of the province). Some of the excellent Sparkling Wines produced here are Brut Prestige, Blanc de Noirs, Mumm Cuvee Napa. All wines are available for tasting. One can't taste too many wines here, without a designated driver. Or, perhaps a designated taster.
The Niebaum Coppola Estate Winery houses the most famous resident in Napa, Film Director Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola purchased the winery for a little weekend getaway country estate. The winery was formerly part of the Inglenook Vineyards. One of the most interesting rooms in the house is the actual office of Don Corleone (the character in the movie The Godfather). It is used as a den. The winery produces the award winning Rubicon, a Bordeaux style red wine, blended with Cabernet, Merlot. Other wines are Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Chardonnay, a Zinfadel and a Bianco & Rosso. Due to the famous resident, access is limited.
